Ali Rashid

Ali Rashid is a renowned politician, entrepreneur, investor, corporate lawyer (specialising in IPR) and philanthropist. He served as the youngest Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from the constituency Defence/Clifton, Karachi, his tenure ending in 2013. Subsequently he was elected as the Member National Assembly (MNA) in 2013 from Korangi and completed his tenure in 2018. In the Parliament, he was one of the youngest MPAs/MNAs yet one of the highest tax paying parliamentarians.

He has a vision to create a difference, whether it is as a politician or as an entrepreneur. He envisions a piracy free Pakistan, and provides consultation to various companies including leading multinationals for the same, through his startup for Intellectual Property Rights protection. He is currently the Chairman/CEO of the Discover Group which he founded in 2006. He is the Chair – IP Commission Pakistan for International Chamber of Commerce (Paris). He also is the only certified expert in Organized Intellectual Property Crime in Pakistan by the INTERPOL.

Ali Rashid is a down-to-earth philanthropist & carries out charitable work through the Ali Rashid Foundation (ARF), working on key issues of underprivileged children, education, environmental issues and advocating women’s rights.
